The Yellow House B&B

The service was good and it’s in a quiet location. There weren’t any facilities for coffee or tea, and the en-suite was cramped. I’ve paid less for hotels with more modern and extensive facilities.

The owner was extremely rude and intimidating, with horrible anger issues. They said our reservation wasn’t there and forced us to pay for a room we didn’t want. Apparently this has happened to quite a few other people as well, not just me. The room wasn’t up to standard or really livable. The wardrobe was lop-sided and there were insects in the room. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a weekend away.

Hilda made us feel very welcome, and this was a handy base for visiting our family. We stayed three nights at the Yellow House, with one double room and one triple. Both were cosy and quiet, the showers were good, and there was ample parking. I especially liked coming back to lovely warm beds with electric blankets. Breakfast was my favourite part, with fresh fruit salads, homemade brown bread and granola. Hilda was quick to prepare cooked breakfast for all five of us. We’d definitely stay again. Thanks, Hilda!

I only stayed one night, but I’d definitely come back if I needed a place near Navan. The room was clean and the hosts were friendly. I did find the bed a bit too hard, and we didn’t get a chance to eat there, so I can’t comment on the food. I felt we were in safe hands with Michael & Hilda.
