Rathkeale House Hotel

We had good food, and the room was really nice and comfortable. Plenty of parking too. The lady working there last night was so friendly and obliging. Great spot 👌 👏 👍. Thanks, I’ll call again.

We stopped in at Rathkeale House Hotel for a meal and were really glad we did. The portions were generous, the food was tasty, and it was great value. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. I’d definitely recommend it.

**Title: Don’t be black** 😊 **Positive:** We booked a room with two double beds, but were given one double bed instead. Staff said Booking.com hadn’t told them about the request and that we’d need to contact them. I don’t believe that, since two beds are standard for a double deluxe room. When we said we were unhappy, the staff member smirked, laughed, and walked away. She said she felt attacked and threatened by us raising the issue, and threatened to call Garda. We said that was fine. They eventually brought in a mattress, left on the floor and only partly made up. The next day, when the manager came to speak with me, I said I was waiting for my two friends to join me. She replied, “So the three of you can attack me.” She didn’t seem to want a conversation and believed whatever the staff member from the previous day had told her. She said we could have the room we’d booked for the second night, or get a refund and leave. There were no apologies at any point, and she also threatened to call Garda. The picture shows the room as we found it and how the mattress was left on the floor.

Stunning. I called in for a snack today, and there was a lovely menu with a nice selection. They also had a carvery, which looked gorgeous, with options including salmon and roast beef. Lots of people were having it, and it seemed great value. There was a good crowd and a great atmosphere. I’d say families often come for the carvery, as there were lots of little children, so it seems very child-friendly. It’s a big premises, wheelchair-friendly, with lots of parking. Well worth a visit.
