The location is perfect, and the kids love this campsite, which is why we’ve stayed for the Viking Festival three years running. But each year I hope the kitchen will be updated, and it’s still in the same state: moldy, with outdated appliances, only two plates, and fridges that really need replacing. The benches and tables had bird droppings on them, with no cleaning supplies available. Black fence paint ruined several sets of our children’s clothes. During the festival there was only one toilet roll in each bathroom, while piles of paper were visible through the window of the owners’ house. It’s time to renovate and provide at least the basics.

Gemma was a terrific host, always available to help, welcoming, and happy to answer every question. We camped here with our three children under 11. It’s a small gem for family camping, with a playground and friendly animals. The children especially loved seeing the donkey and feeding the chickens. Facilities were very good, including hot water and a kitchen that came in handy when the weather turned and we needed to eat indoors. Dublin, Newgrange, and Tara were easy to reach.

This farm was a lovely, quiet break from hotels and busy cities. We had a spacious, clean room, a powerful shower, and a kitchenette where we could make full meals for the kids. With the windows open it was peaceful, and there was plenty of outdoor space with friendly animals nearby to say hello to. I wish we’d had longer. We had a private bathroom, and there were also facilities around the back for campers, with a whole row of WCs beside the large grassy areas and fruit trees. Wi-Fi was included, the cell signal was good, and we found a USB port on the TV to charge our devices. It felt very safe for families and travelers, with enough parking in the gated lot. If I had to mention downsides, previous guests had taken some kitchen supplies, so we were short on silverware and dishes, and the kids’ bunks could use fresher mattresses. We’d still come right back on another visit.

We ended up staying four nights, though that wasn’t in our plans, because our camper van broke down. The owners were incredibly kind, arranged for a mechanic to fix it, and found room for us. It’s a lovely bucolic spot, not far from places to visit. There’s a kitchen and living room available, everything you need to feel comfortable. Thank you for the warm welcome and support. Bretons on the move.

We’re from Germany and arrived by ferry, then used this campsite as our first stop. We had a VW Bus and wanted to see sights around Drogheda, including Monasterboice and Slane Castle. The setting and landscape are lovely and peaceful, and you can walk to Slane Castle and into the village. We were the only guests at the campsite. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and we can recommend the place. The kitchen beside the campsite, though, was quite dirty and clearly not well maintained.
