We had a very comfortable bed, and the room was spotless. Natalia greeted us and was lovely and helpful. The shower was clean and properly hot, though the water pressure wasn’t especially strong, which seems fairly common in Ireland. We slept through breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. I’d recommend staying here. I’ve seen older negative reviews, but when my husband and I visited in early 2026, the issues mentioned there seemed to have been addressed.

Hazel Brook, thanks so much, and good luck! My room had a wooden floor so polished and clean I almost didn’t want to walk on it with shoes. The place felt very hygienic and tidy. There was plenty of wardrobe space, plus a kettle and things for tea or coffee. A really lovely place to book and stay.

The shower was noisy and the cistern kept dripping, which were the only real problems. Otherwise the place was clean, cosy and comfortable, and breakfast was lovely. The location is great, and parking was handy.

The room was spotless and very quiet, which is why I’ve given two stars. The bed and breakfast experience itself fell short: the bed was horribly uncomfortable, like something from the 1930s, and the shower was tiny with only a trickle of water. The toilet had to be opened up and fiddled with before it would flush properly. For breakfast, the choices were heated frozen pastries or highly processed meat with a slice of American cheese still wrapped in cellophane.

The room was tiny, with barely enough room to walk around the bed, and the bathroom was awful. The owner was extremely rude, and we felt like a nuisance instead of guests. Their replies to online reviews gave me the same impression: rather than looking at how to improve, they blame customers. We were also surprised by extra charges and hadn’t been told that payment was cash only. My concern is how the family room is priced on the booking site. It sleeps five, but the listed price appears to be for two people. Once we were there and couldn’t cancel, we were told it was “too bad” and charged 35 euros per extra person per night. Why let people book a five-person room at the two-person rate if that’s not the price they’ll pay? It felt like a way to lure guests into booking, then demand more cash when it’s too late to leave. We were threatened with the police being called to evict us if we didn’t pay the extra money. We were required to pay cash without a receipt, which made me wonder what fees or taxes might be avoided. A normal business would show a higher price for a larger group upfront. I believe regulators, tax officials and legal authorities should investigate. This was the worst hotel stay I’ve had. Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere else.
