Carrabaun House

Angela made a tasty breakfast and had good suggestions for enjoying the area. The house and bedroom were lovely, with a beautiful view. If traditional music is your thing, head to Matt Malloy's.

We were three men touring western Ireland on motorbikes, and this felt like a lovely, homely place to stay. The host was friendly and helpful, and the welcome was warm. The town centre was only four or five minutes away by taxi.

We felt relaxed and comfortable throughout our stay, and Angela was friendly and easy to chat with. The new regulations were in place, and our room was spotless. The highlight was breakfast: the Irish Baileys cream porridge is still on my mind, and the pancakes with lemon curd were fantastic. Angela greeted us warmly, and the house and gardens are beautiful. We had an amazing view of Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick from our spotless room, and breakfast had plenty of choices. We spent a wonderful week at Carrabaun House. It has a distinctive feel, with antique pieces and lovely local paintings throughout; I enjoyed looking at all the details on the staircase and landing. Angela is a very warm and welcoming host.
