Roscaoin House

The house is beautiful inside, and the lounges feel like stepping into another time. Finola makes sure parking is available outside with a guest pass, and everything is five minutes from the B&B. Westport is stunning, with everything you could want from an Irish holiday. Toby's Bar is five doors away, and had the best pint of Guinness in Ireland. Breakfast is a big part of the experience. It’s an enormous, hearty meal around a Victorian dining table with the other guests, and the conversation flows. You won’t need to book lunch. Finola’s hospitality is unique, and nothing seems too much trouble. We enjoyed the chance to meet people and get a feel for how friendly Westport and Ireland are. It’s a little different from ordinary accommodation. Tea, coffee and biscuits aren’t kept in the room, but Finola will bring them if you ask politely. Sharing breakfast at the same table may not suit everyone, but we urge you to give it a try. I’m not sure there was anything we didn’t like.

The house is lovely and very well kept, and Fionnuala is full of useful tips on the local bars and restaurants. We slept well in the quiet surroundings and were very comfortable. Her breakfast was lovely, and her dog Rocco is adorable. My husband and I had a superb one-night stay in Westport. We’ll come back to see them soon.

The house is right in the heart of town, so it’s easy to walk wherever you need to go. Our room was spacious and cozy, with a bathroom that had everything we needed. The classic style of the house and rooms was gorgeous, and the room was comfortable. But the real highlights were our kind, hospitable host Finoula and her little dog Rocco. We love pups and missed our own Westie mix at home, so we were thrilled to have Rocco around. Finoula let us play with him downstairs and again for a while before checkout. She was lovely to chat with, especially about dogs, and made an incredible breakfast. We’ll definitely stay here again when we come back to Ireland. Highly recommend!

We loved our three nights here, and wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else on a return to westport. Finola is so kind and a pleasure to be around, one of the best hosts we’ve met. The breakfast was great, and she looked after the beautiful Victorian-style house so well. Our gorgeous room was very clean. We also loved her wee dog Rocco. I’d highly recommend Roscaoin house to anyone travelling to westport. Finola is genuinely beautiful inside and out. Xx
