Central Boutique Hotel

The accommodation was excellent, spotless, and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly. My stay was perfect.

Once I’d spent my first night at Central boutique, I knew I wanted to stay there again, even though I had plenty of places to choose from during my 14 days in Israel. I stayed four nights in total. The rooms are fantastic and everything is new, though you might not guess that from the outside. There are only five rooms, so book early. It’s in Jerusalem’s Central triangle, just off Jaffa Street, between the light rail station and the historic Temple Western wall. Most of old Jerusalem’s sights are walkable, as are the rental car center and the best restaurants, which are only 30 or 40 m away. You won’t be short of anything here.

Our room, 101, was clean, recently refurbished and fine for two, but we could hear the main door opening and shutting. Wi-Fi was unreliable most of the time, and very poor when it did connect. The location is excellent, right by the Old city. There’s no parking on site. They look for something nearby, but if you want to save time, arrange parking yourself before you arrive. Reception is in a nearby store that’s quite expensive, though it’s open 24 hours.

We picked this hotel for its low price by Jerusalem standards and its handy location, with the main sights all within walking distance. But the club right next door made sleep impossible on Friday. The bass carried through until 4:30am, and the earplugs they supplied barely helped. Saturday was a little better, with the music stopping at 2:30am. I’d strongly avoid booking for a Friday or Saturday night.
