National Hotel Jerusalem

The service and upkeep were awful. We booked for four people but found only two towels, and there was no mini bar in the room until we asked for it. The room table was broken, and both the overhead and handheld shower ran at once, so showering properly was impossible. Several lights were out, too. We requested a remote control and waited two hours for one. When it finally came, it didn't work at all. I'm very angry and deeply disappointed. I would never recommend this hotel.

We left after just one night and moved to another hotel the next morning because we were so uncomfortable. The area didn't feel safe, especially at night, and the hotel was nothing like the pictures. The rooms were old and run-down, with mold in the showers. The hallway carpet was worn and dirty, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the bedding was awful quality. The room description listed a safe, but there wasn't one. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

There were bed bugs on the second floor, so be very careful. The sheets were too small to fit the beds properly, and I have bites all over my body. The hygiene here is an absolute disgrace. My room wasn't cleaned for four days. I don't recommend this hotel at all.

We stayed two nights at the National Hotel Jerusalem. The room was a little old, but comfortable enough for my purpose. I came to visit Masjidil Aqsa, not for a staycation. The location is the main draw, very close to Masjidil Aqsa and handy for worship or exploring the Old City. The neighborhood felt friendly, lively and safe to walk around. The staff were helpful and the atmosphere was welcoming. A charming little surprise was the fluffy hotel cat hanging around the lobby, such a calming presence after a long day on foot. A practical, homey place to rest if proximity to Masjidil Aqsa matters most.
