I’ve traveled to many countries, and this hostel quickly became one of my favorites. It’s cozy and cool, with a great location and comfortable rooms, good bedding, soft pillows, and free towels. You can pay a fair price for the varied buffet breakfast, or use the coffee stations on every floor, which have milk, orange juice, and teas. The staff, Othman and Inma, were kind, lovely, and very professional. I feel like I made two friends.

I was surprised by how spacious and friendly this place was, and by the warm welcome from RANIM and HAKAM at reception. After I told them about leaving a competitor hostel, HAKAM handled the long transition to this hostel and made it comfortable and pleasant. They went out of their way to put me in a quiet six-female room. It exceeded my expectations: lots of space, very clean, fresh-smelling sheets, a big bathroom and locker, AC and Heater, and a quiet, comfortable bed. The price was better than booking.Com. The breakfast was good quality and worth the extra €15 euros. I’ll absolutely come back and recommend it to everyone.

The beds have curtains and the rooms are okay, but some guests made it hard to rest. People sprayed air freshener or hairspray all over the room, talked loudly on their phones, or used speakerphone while others were asleep. In a hostel there are plenty of lounge areas for calls. Also, keep your belongings with you, even when you go to the bathroom or shower. Things can disappear, and one girl left quickly in the morning before anyone noticed. Younger women especially should be careful.

Breakfast was the highlight for us: the chef made it fresh to order, and it was really good. The location worked well too, near the shuk and about a 20-minute walk from Jaffa Gate. Since this is a hostel, the room was fine by those standards and roomy enough for four, though there was nowhere to put our luggage and no hangers. It was clean and smelled nice, but the walls in both the room and bathroom could use cleaning or paint. Showering left the bathroom floor quite wet. They cleaned the room and replaced the towels daily, and when I had a problem with the shower, they fixed it right away. We had a good stay.

Ahmad, the manager, was very helpful whenever something came up, and the staff are devoted. The place is right in the city center, close to everything you might need. One thing to watch for: checking in on Thursday or Friday, as Shabbat begins early, can be a hassle. They often have large groups leaving Thursday and Friday morning, so things may get missed during the room turnover. It doesn't happen every time, though. Great place to stay.
