View of The Valley Guest House

The room is small and homey, decorated with the owner's collections, and has a soft spring bed. There’s a jacuzzi that also works as a shower, with the toilet in a separate room. A little counter has a sink and kettle, but you can’t cook. There’s cable TV and WiFi too. This small guesthouse sits on a terrace at the end of an alley, with a lovely view towards the Yemenite Valley (Huadi). It’s about a five-minute walk to the village center, yet quiet and calm. In spring everything is green. Parking isn’t available nearby, and it’s hard to reach for anyone with walking difficulties. The stairs up to one of the two guesthouse rooms could also be challenging, especially at night.

Ein Kerem has beautiful scenery and a magical feel, though the place itself is fairly ordinary and homely. It was an Arab village whose residents fled when it was occupied in 1948. Since then, Israelis, most of them Jews, have lived there.
