The staff were pleasant, and the hotel is well connected in the heart of the city. Food was available, but we didn’t eat there and chose outside hotels instead. I booked a room for three adult men for four nights, but on arrival they gave us a room with only two single beds. Cleanliness was poor, with red gutkha spit all over the window. The bathroom wasn’t maintained well either, and water came out around the basin and commode. We also felt a security concern because there was a four-foot door in our room, locked from the other side, with no locking system on our side. Nothing bad happened during our stay, but if I book this hotel again, I’d avoid that room.

The room I had was old, but decent and fairly clean. Don’t expect luxury, and bring mosquito repellent cream because there are mosquitoes. It may be okay for single men travelling, but I don’t think it suits families or single women. Maybe it’s cultural, but men who aren’t suitably clothed hang around the corridors. The staff seem friendly, though they don’t really respect your privacy and keep knocking to ask if you need anything. They also make you pay a tip when you leave.

For solo travel, this is great value for money. A single room with an attached bathroom costs Rs.550 per night, and the property is right in the heart of the city. You can walk to Ujjayanta Palace from here.

A budget hotel with clean rooms and enough water. The AC rooms are affordable too. Staff responded well, and the food was home cooked.

It’s a budget stay in a prime location, and the simple home-style food is available. The place feels a bit cozy and not very professional. The room was clean, but the walls were damp. Bathroom fittings were broken, and hot water wasn’t available unless I called reception to ask for it. Probably works for working professionals on a budget.
