Hotel Ganpati Agra

The staff were well behaved, and for this price the room was good. Breakfast was good too, but there's no lunch or dinner option.

Hotel Ganpati is handy for getting around Agra, with the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort nearby. Rooms are spacious and kept up well, with comfortable beds and basic amenities. A few have Taj Mahal views. Staff were generally friendly and quick to help, including with travel arrangements and local suggestions. There's a restaurant with local and international food, and Wi-Fi, though the connection can be patchy. Housekeeping kept the rooms and shared areas clean. Given the location and service, it felt like good value for a budget stay. It's a comfortable base for visiting the main sights without spending too much.

The room was nice, and they let us leave our luggage there all day after checkout so we could walk around. But we'd booked through a website because the deal looked good, then found the price was double when we arrived. They said the booking site didn't recognize the price change, so we paid twice as much and stayed one night. There was no hot water in the bathroom, and when I asked about it they ignored the issue. They kept knocking every hour to ask if we wanted food, which was really annoying. Two stars for holding our bags.

The TV, intercom, and even the AC remote didn't work, and staff service was delayed. They show low prices on the Oyo app, then refuse to give rooms at the booked rate at check-in and charge more than 150% extra. At checkout they asked us to give five stars. How could anyone do that in these conditions?
