The Hosteller Agra

The facilities are only just acceptable. The shower barely works, and hot water lasts about three minutes. Sleep was impossible: loud music played on the rooftop late every night of my stay. If you did manage to drift off, employees might come into your room at 1 AM to talk and switch on the lights, then leave the door open while they carried on chatting outside. When guests arrived at 2 AM, staff would hold another conversation in the room, too. The place can't provide the one thing a hotel should, a chance to sleep. The staff's lack of consideration is matched only by the guests'. Save yourself the stress and book a hotel instead. They're the same price.

The room was decent and comfortable enough for my one-night stay. It's especially convenient if you want to be close to the Taj Mahal and get around easily, with major sights nearby. A good choice for a short visit.

We had a fantastic meal at Spice cafe on the rooftop terrace. The food was delicious, the prices were very reasonable for the experience, and you can see the Taj in the distance. Abey and his team were so friendly, and the service was very good. We went on a Friday evening, with fireworks and wedding parties all around.

The rooftop had a beautiful view of the Taj Mahal, especially at sunrise, and the common areas made it easy to meet people. The rooms were neat and comfortable, and the whole property felt clean, lively, and friendly. Staff were welcoming and happy to suggest local places. I had a really pleasant stay at The Hosteller Agra, and would recommend it to anyone visiting, whether backpacking, traveling solo, or with family.
