Hotel Bait Inn

We left our wallet behind after checkout, and the staff called us and returned it. The hotel is in a good area, with the Metro just 200-300 meters away. A worthwhile stay, highly recommended.

We booked five rooms for the family, two for three people and three for two. The triple rooms were surprisingly roomier than the doubles, and everything was clean and well maintained. Staff were supportive, room service was prompt, and hot water was available whenever we asked. Riverfront, Atal Bridge, and some other sights are close enough to walk to. The window view wasn’t much, but parking worked well for both bikes and cars. Hotel Bait Inn was comfortable for our family, and our one-night stay was good value. I’d recommend it to families visiting Ahmedabad.

It took housekeeping 30 minutes to arrive after I asked for the washroom to be cleaned. The reception staff member was arrogant and blamed the mess on my early check-in. The washroom was very unclean, and the taps and shower looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages.

Breakfast was the best meal, though the staff were dusting and mopping the restaurant floor while guests were eating. We all had to tell them to stop, which felt silly. The hotel seems to run without anyone managing it, relying on each department to do its own thing. Housekeeping was outstanding, but the rest of the service was really average. I’d hope a manager takes charge of operations directly. I’d chosen the MAP plan, but dinner was below average and felt like they were just doing me a favor. One evening there was only a Chinese buffet, with no other options, and they served fried papad with noodles and manchurian. My check-in time, around 8 pm, had been confirmed by phone and WhatsApp, but when I arrived at 8:30, the room wasn’t ready and I had to wait about 20 minutes without an explanation. The room was so small for one person that it was hard to move around the bed. The listing photos and mixed reviews had made it look like a nice boutique hotel, but the property is run-down in many ways, even if they’re trying to improve it. I hope service gets better.
