Palak Palace Hotel

There was no hot water, exposed electrical joints in the bathroom, and a mouse in the room. I told the staff about the mouse, but they did nothing. The room was damp and poorly cleaned, with hair from a previous female guest scattered on the bed. Check-in was a lot of trouble because the inexperienced receptionist didn’t seem to know how online bookings worked.

I stayed in one of their rooms for 12 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are impressive and gave me a five-star feeling. Everyone was very nice and cooperative, from the room boy and cashier to the owner.

I was really disappointed by the staff’s rude response when I reported problems and asked to change rooms. They refused, even though the hotel was empty and there seemed to be no other bookings. Their attitude was basically that this was what they had and I could leave if I didn’t like it. The room was small and dirty, as was the washroom. In winter the geyser didn’t work; the AC in the AC room barely worked and leaked water. There was no ventilation in the room or washroom. That kind of treatment isn’t acceptable in the hotel business.

My sister arrived at the hotel at 1am and they refused to check her in, even though I’d booked through OYO at 11:30 pm and confirmed late-night check-in. After several calls and requests, they still wouldn’t let her in. The way they spoke to us was very rude. We had to move the booking to another hotel at 2 am. Highly disappointed with the staff’s approach, and I wouldn’t recommend this place.
