The houseboat was awful and fell short of what we expected. Service at the homestay was poor too: we weren't even given drinking water, and the dinner we'd been told would be provided was badly cooked, with half-baked chapatis and unsatisfactory chicken curry. It felt like an ordinary home turned into a homestay. I'd strongly advise avoiding this place if you want a decent houseboat experience or service.

The description and photos give a misleading impression. The rooms are tiny, the blankets looked used and had holes, bathroom equipment was broken, and there were too many mosquitoes. The room advertised as having an attached balcony had only a tiny one. It's basically a three-bedroom flat on the first floor, with reception in the hall and the owners downstairs. They didn't provide toothpaste; I had to ask separately and was charged for it. This felt more like a hostel, but the price was like a five-star hotel. Don't trust this place. The good reviews seem paid to me.

The balcony is lovely and the rooms are decent with a view of the lake, but the price is high for what's offered. There's no room service, dinner, or hot water in the bathroom, so getting an extra towel or soap isn't possible. The connecting road is narrow and full of potholes, making it hard to drive. The owner's office is in the shared area between rooms, which cuts into your privacy if you leave your door open.

For a budget stay, it was okay, but very basic. We had a non-AC room, and it stayed quite warm even in winter. The upper balcony is lovely in the evenings, though the water traffic makes some noise. Book breakfast too, it's well worth it.
