Zen Oaks Homestay

Zen Oaks Homestay, owned by Mr. Manoj, is in a peaceful spot near Kasar Devi and Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, surrounded by beautiful Himalayan scenery. From the property, we had a stunning view of the Panchachuli mountains, especially at sunrise and sunset. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well maintained. Mr. Manoj’s hospitality was warm and welcoming, and the delicious food felt just like home. A lovely place to relax, enjoy nature, and have a calm mountain getaway. Highly recommended for families, couples, and nature lovers.

I was looking for a very quiet solo retreat in the hills, somewhere among the woods with a view of the Himalayan ranges. A tall order, but surprisingly, Zen Oaks was the place. Near Kasar Devi temple in Almora district, it has a zen-like stillness, with birds chirping and a cool mountain breeze. Sipping my morning tea while gazing at the Himalayas was a blessing. The silence really seeps into your soul. The staff are friendly and cheerful, the rooms are clean, the service is good, and the food is good too. Ideal for a solo retreat. I love this place and plan to return.

The hosts Avishkar and Manoj are warm and helpful, and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Their chef, Ashok, is very accommodating, and the cafe serves freshly prepared pure vegetarian food at reasonable prices. The property is beautiful, eco-sensitive, and has a wonderful Himalayan view. It’s calm, serene, and safe. I had a great experience and would highly recommend it.

Morning chai on the balcony, looking out over the valley, was a lovely part of our stay at Zen Oaks Homestay. It’s tucked away from the noise and surrounded by nature, which made it really peaceful for the whole family. The rooms were clean and cozy, with a homely feel, and the fresh, simple food tasted like ghar ka khana. Manoj Ji made sure we were comfortable and looked after us warmly. We’d happily visit again, and I’d recommend it for a calm stay in Almora.
