We came away relaxed from Kasaar Jungle Resort, with the greenery, fresh air, and peaceful natural setting giving it a real jungle feel. The food was fresh, delicious, and had a nice range of options. Staff were attentive and courteous throughout, which helped make the stay comfortable. A great spot for nature and good food. I’d be happy to visit again.

The location is the one thing this property has going for it. The place is very old and poorly maintained. Our room had no mini fridge, and there were cockroaches on the buffet breakfast serving counter and in the rooms. Common areas were very dirty, with dust and spider webs around. The crockery, bedsheets, and towels were dirty too, and the bathroom was leaking. We booked half board and were told dinner would be a buffet, but no buffet was provided. The à la carte choices we were offered were very limited. For example, though the menu listed several desserts, we were told only rice kheer was available, while other desserts were being served to other guests. Even when asking for an omelet at breakfast, the first response was, “Let me check if it can be done.” Really?

The property is set among tall trees, with small buildings spread over a large area at different levels. There are steps to climb to get around, and there’s even a path to Kasar Devi Temple from inside the grounds. We were upgraded to a larger family room on the third floor, where the treetops were at eye level. In the evening there were lots of monkeys, though they had gone later on. Our clean, comfortable room had a lovely bay window where we could sit and read or watch the view. The staff were very helpful, and the made-to-order food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the Kumauni chicken curry and the other vegetarian dishes. It really feels like a jungle resort, and we had a great stay. I’d recommend it to people who love nature and peace and don’t mind walking or climbing stairs.

I got married at Kasar Jungle Resort in Oct 2024, and I’d recommend it without hesitation. The setting was beautiful and surreal, and my family and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Vaibhav and his team stayed on top of everything, accommodated my dietary restrictions, and made sure the day went smoothly. They also looked after all our guests. Vaibhav suggested a tent vendor, and all the vendors he recommended were top notch. The next morning, staff got up early to pack breakfast for me for the road. It’s hard to get such personal service in a large place, but they made it happen. I’m forever grateful to them for making our wedding memorable and completely stress-free.

I went to Kasar Jungle Resort hoping to relax, but it turned into a nightmare and ruined my anniversary. The room was the worst part: the comforter was dirty, the bedsheets were stained, there were no toiletries, and they gave us used hand soap. The locks didn’t work and the water tap was broken. When we raised these issues, the manager and receptionist didn’t seem to care. The whole experience was awful.
