OYO 15496 Shree Hari Castle

The room we were given was a tiny triple, very dirty, with a faulty lock and a bathroom whose flush didn't work properly. We were five people, but when we asked for another room, they said we'd agreed to that room already. After a lot of asking, they gave us a spare mattress, also very dirty, and there was hardly space to put it. The older owner on duty at night was very rude. We'd booked a family room for five for the night because we were arriving in Amritsar at 2am. They said they'd send a driver, so we weren't concerned about getting there. At the station, the driver first didn't answer, then told us to come ourselves because he was sleeping. It was disgusting. Following the driver's earlier instructions, we had to exit the railway station by platform no-7. It was frighteningly empty, with only one or two people around. We eventually got an auto, but the driver was drunk and kept warning us to protect our purses and phones because someone could snatch them. I feel cheated. The reviews looked good, but that wasn't our experience. It was the worst stay anyone could have. I strongly advise people not to stay there.

The staff were pleasant, and the area is good. The rooms were clean and hygienic too. A stay here in Amritsar is definitely worth the money.

The sheets had holes, the blanket smelled, and used towels were left in the room despite repeated requests to have them changed. After waiting an hour to check in, I was told my discounted online booking was for too low a price. When I finally got a room, it was dusty, and the receptionist had been really rude.

The toilet was clean, and the staff were cooperative and spoke gently. The room was just okay, but for a budget hotel it was decent. I had a good experience overall.
