We came back late from Golden Temple and found the hotel locked. After several tries, we waited outside in the freezing wind for about 30-45 minutes before they let us in. They asked who comes back that late. Then when we requested a blanket, they said they didn't have one and couldn't do anything about how we chose to sleep. They didn't provide water, and the sheets were poor. For transport to Wagah border, instead of just telling us the options, they booked a taxi for 1300 when the usual rate is around 500-600. Very poor service. It felt like they were just thugs trying to steal your money.

The owners were abusive and, in my view, dishonest. The bedsheets were dirty and unhygienic, and they didn't provide water, charging extra for drinking water. They switched off the AC in the middle of the night; when you complained, the owner behaved badly.
