The pillows, blankets, and beds smelled awful, which was really problematic, even though the hotel is good while under construction. We also experienced what seemed like paranormal activity: a completely black cat ran through the corridors as a lady walked in front of us, and there was a whole black shadow. We heard sounds like someone dancing, with payal sounds too.

Even after asking ten times, our room still wasn't cleaned. There was no soap or towel in the washroom, and they didn't change the bedsheets.

I rented a double bedroom, but it was extremely dirty, with lots of dirt, and the walls weren't clean. The door also wouldn't shut properly, leaving a small gap.

For a budget stay, the Royal Palace Hotel on Mall Road is practical, especially if being near the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh matters more than luxury. It's centrally placed for tourists and business travelers, with shopping, eateries, and public transport nearby. The rooms are simply furnished, with basics like Wi-Fi, AC, and room service. Cleanliness is generally acceptable, though bathroom and fixture maintenance can be an issue. Staff feedback varies: many find them polite and responsive, while service can be inconsistent when busy. Dining options in the hotel are limited, so guests often go to nearby restaurants. The simple ambience is enough for a short, comfortable visit to explore Amritsar's cultural and spiritual landmarks. Better upkeep and customer service would improve the stay.
