Rajhamsa Hotel by OYO Rooms

I reserved by phone and reached the hotel at 11 PM, only to be told there was no reservation. They argued that I hadn’t booked until I showed them my call history. Other hotels were full, so I couldn’t get a room elsewhere. This was the worst service I’ve seen. Don’t trust the receptionist.

Hotel Raja Hamsa is beside the Ananthapuram RTC bus station, so the area is busy and there’s a lot of dust and noise. I stayed for three days, but I can’t recommend it. Parking is tight: the cellar fits only 4 to 5 cars, with a few spaces in front that get dusty from the daytime traffic. They also don’t provide accommodation for drivers, which was a major inconvenience for me. The restaurant looked good, but the food was average, about 2.5 out of 5 for taste. Service was decent and the staff welcoming, though it could have been more comfortable and efficient. The lobby mixes classic and modern decor, with ornate sofas, a detailed cutout ceiling, and large vases. There’s a small reception and couches in the waiting area, but the space felt cluttered and could be more welcoming. Some parts were acceptable, but the overall experience didn’t meet the mark, around 2.5 stars for me.

The ambience was good, and so were the staff, room service, and everything else. The complimentary morning tiffin, though, wasn’t worth the price. There was very little variety, and they should improve it.

Simhadri, the restaurant manager at Hotel Rajahamsa, made our meal memorable. He checked on our table himself and gave us great recommendations. His calm, professional way of running the dining room showed in the attentive service from the whole team. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and valued. It’s rare to see a manager so committed to guest satisfaction.
