Granpas Inn - Hotel Bougainvillea

A relaxed, welcoming place with simple, clean rooms and friendly, helpful staff. The traditional Indian food on the main menu is really good. It’s easy to get to local villages and beach spots from here.

The restaurant was the standout for us, with an extensive lunch and dinner menu and a generous, tasty breakfast included. Diogo and Subash gave excellent service and went out of their way to look after us. My wife and I had a very relaxing six-night stay. The hotel’s Portuguese influenced buildings have lovely outdoor verandas, and the spacious pool area has seating and loungers in both shade and full sun. I’d highly recommend it.

Betina, the owner, made us feel like family. I loved chatting with her as she shared stories from her life. We had a pleasant stay at Grandpa’s Inn, with good food, top-notch room service and a handy base for exploring nearby places. There’s parking, too. This place feels like an affordable, peaceful, beautiful hidden gem in Goa, and after staying here I’d want to come back. Location, food and ambience all get 5/5 from me.

The gardens are what keep this place in my heart, but I'm not sure I'd return at today's prices. There’s a big, clean pool, and the garden is lovely. We chose a pool facing room, which was a good size and had a front porch where we could sit for hours. The plants kept it pleasant and cooler. The outdoor shower was good too, and clothes dried easily there. Diago, Javed and the garden staff were polite. There are downsides: the child bed was very poor quality, barely a mattress. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, need a lot of maintenance, and the mattresses are very old and may need replacing. Breakfast was limited. It was okay for us, but pancakes, waffles or something similar would be nice for kids.
