The cafe food was really good, and the place itself is beautiful and in a great spot. The downsides were the awful Wi-Fi and a really poor mobile signal.

I’ve been coming back since my first stay in 2020, and this was visit number six. I’ve eaten here countless times too, and I’m only sharing this place now because it feels like such a hidden gem that I’d rather keep it to myself. For me, it’s the best place I know in Goa. I’ve been visiting Goa since 2014 and have watched plenty of places open, close, rise, and fall. The cottages here are beautiful, and the food is the freshest I’ve had in Goa. I’ve tried the popular spots and the less popular ones, but the food here feels like it comes from God’s farm. They even bake their own bread. The owner, Lynford, is so committed that he lives in one of the cottages, even though his own home is on the property. He doesn’t believe in promotions, but The Elephant Cafe; The Village has loyal believers. I don’t understand the lower ratings. If you want people around who just say yes and don’t care about quality, this probably isn’t your place.

The staff were so thoughtful and kind, and the accommodation was beautiful. In my view, this is the best resort in Anjuna, with a great location. Thank you! Rob and Cristina

The room had modern decor, and I liked the cafe, the location, and having access to the beach. But there were a lot of problems. There’s no proper reception, just the boys at the front cafe, and it doesn’t operate like other hotels or stays. There’s no room service. The boys tried to help, but there wasn’t much they could do. Parking was too limited and unmanaged, and my car got brushed against somehow. We even had a rat in the room that helped itself to a banana. 🤣 Room cleaning was careless: used towels were folded and put back on the rack, and the cutlery hadn’t been washed. The bathroom door was broken, and staff seemed unsure what to do about it. I know it was peak season, but given all this, the room price was extremely high.

The rooms are lovely, with creative bohemian decor, and The Elephant cafe behind the village cottage resort has a fabulous atmosphere and a beach view. But I wouldn’t recommend staying here for women, as it didn’t feel positive or secure to me. There’s no room service, blankets, proper lighting, security, or CCTV, and there was no hot water. They also don’t serve North Indian or South Indian food. It didn’t feel like a family resort either, and the staff seemed scary to me.
