Maitree

Breakfast was included and good quality, but ordering extra food from the menu got quite expensive. There are plenty of beach shacks and cafés nearby, where food is good and costs less. Maitree Resort is conveniently placed at the start of Arambol Beach, just a few steps from the shore. The beach stretch continues to the famous Sweet Water Lake, about 1.5 km away, walkable but a bit far. We booked a cottage and a king deluxe room, and got the extra mattress we requested. The cottage felt quite small, while the deluxe room was more comfortable. I’d give the rooms 3/5. The property was being renovated during our visit, which affected cleanliness, though it was manageable. Maitree Resort is decent for its location and basic amenities, but the room size, cleanliness, and pricing could be improved. My overall rating is 3/5.

A terrible stay. The place was filthy, there was no parking, and the staff, manager, or owner were rude. Drunk people made a racket until 3 in the morning. Avoid it if you can.

We spent three days at this resort and came away with lovely memories. The location is awesome, and we hope to visit again.

Some of the staff are good, but the main problem was the hotel manager, Mr. Happy. He was extremely rude and uncooperative, with no basic manners in the way he spoke to guests. The stay was unpleasant and spoiled our day. He should improve how he talks to people. One star is for the location.
