Himalayan High, Auli, By Himalayan Eco Lodges

The mountains surround this lovely property, which is full of flowers. Staff were courteous and helpful whenever we needed them, and we had a very comfortable stay. The lunch and dinner we had were both really good. A great pick!

The hosts and staff were so friendly and helpful, and they kept everything comfortable throughout our stay. The washrooms, beds, mattresses, and food were all well maintained, and hygiene was clearly taken care of. Their hospitality really made the experience. Wishing them great success, and I'd be happy to stay here again if the service stays at this level.

The hotel is overpriced and definitely not worth it. The food was disgusting, they couldn't even make a simple Maggi. Its location on maps and apps is misleading and wrong, and it's far from Auli centre despite what they claim.

Booking with Himalayan Eco Lodge caused serious disruption, stress, and unplanned costs during peak travel dates, when other options were limited. We had booked two rooms for 25-27 December in Auli/Joshimath and received clear verbal confirmation by phone before setting out. But when we reached the property, they abruptly refused check-in, saying the booking was for a different lodge about seven hours away. The online listing used photos and a map location for the Auli/Joshimath property, while the written address said “Chamba–Kanatal Region, Village Sursing Dhar, Kanatal Joshimath India 249001.” It combines distinct regions in a confusing, highly misleading way and can easily deceive guests about where the place actually is. Based on this experience, I'd strongly recommend travelers avoid this operator unless the exact property name and location are clearly documented in writing. Check the photos, map pin, and address carefully before paying.
