This place is a scam. I booked through booking.com, and they called to ask for a 30% deposit to confirm our stay. They claimed the hotel was only 200 meters from ayodhya dham railway station, but it's actually about 2 kms away. The room looked nothing like the photos. There was no TV, wardrobe, or luggage space. The bathroom door was broken, and the intercom didn't work. There was no ventilation anywhere in the hotel, not even an exaust in the bathrooms. The hotel didn't have a proper in-house kitchen, and the listing information on booking sites was totally misleading and wrong. They charged triple for a pathetic room. There was a hot water kattle, but no Tea/coffee milk kit, and they even charged for tea. Some staff were rude, the service was bad, and they didn't provide bathroom soap. Every room smelled bad. This is my true review. If you see a good or okay one, ignore it, because they tell every guest to leave a good review in exchange for a complementary ride, tea, or something else. Don't fall for this hotel if you're staying in ayodhya. Thank you 🙂 Rooms: 1/5 | Service: 1/5 | Location: 1/5 Rooms: Worst room I've ever experienced. Nearby activities: None. Every place is very far from this hotel. Safety: No safety. Walkability: Every place is very far from this hotel. Food and drinks: No kitchen available. Noteworthy details: Don't fall for the pics.
Hotel Ramayana offers a calm stay at a reasonable price, with decent facilities and good service. It's in a convenient area for visiting Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi, and other local attractions, and seems suited to pilgrims and families looking for comfort and easy access to Ayodhya's spiritual centers. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well organized. They have basic amenities including air conditioning, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, television, and room service. The hotel is well maintained, and the staff are polite, cooperative, and attentive. They respond quickly and can help with local travel and nearby places. There's also an in-house restaurant serving good, hygienic vegetarian food suitable for pilgrims and families.
We booked three double rooms through Agoda for six family members, but after arriving at 21:30 in freezing weather, we found the property looked nothing like its online photos. It is over 2 km from Ayodhya Dham Junction, and there was no transport available nearby. The receptionist called a man named Shlok, who told him to shift us to a “better” place. At 22:00 we were put back on our rickshaws and taken about a kilometer away to a shabby building where they were still sweeping the floors as we arrived. The room there had exposed AC wires hanging from the walls and dirty, basic furniture. It was nowhere near what we expected for ₹3,000-₹4,000 per room. When we objected, staff got aggressive and told us to “just adjust” because we had booked through a third party. We had to call the police. After we returned to the original property, they still tried to put all six of us in one dormitory-style room with four beds, despite our reservation for three separate rooms. We met another guest at the second location who seemed to be dealing with the same situation but was too intimidated to speak up. Only after local police intervened did management arrange another hotel, Ramanjaneya Hotel, so our family, including three women and a child, could sleep safely before our Darshan. They also questioned why I wanted to photograph the exterior and tried to stop me. Service was non-existent, and the photos here show the place's actual condition compared with its online profile. Stay away if you care about your safety and money. This felt like a trap for tourists, not a grand hotel.
The rooms smelled bad, had no ventilation, and the bathrooms had no exhaust fans. There was no proper in-house kitchen, and even soap wasn't provided. Service was poor and some staff were rude. They charged triple for a pathetic room, and even tea cost 30 rupees. The room we got looked nothing like the photos. We had booked through bookING.COM and were asked to pay a 30% deposit to confirm. The listing said the hotel was only 200 meters from ayodhya dham railway station, but it was actually around 2 km away. When we reached the station, nobody answered my calls or sent a location. We eventually found the hotel, but they gave us only two rooms for eight people. If your train arrives at night, transport may be unavailable because the area is restricted. The information on booking sites is misleading and wrong. This is my honest review. If you see a good or okay review, I would ignore it, since they tell guests to leave positive feedback in exchange for a complimentary ride, tea, or something else. If you're staying in ayodhya, don't rely on what this hotel claims.
Getting around was easy, with autos and other public transport close by, and the hotel is conveniently near Ram Mandir. The food was good and the stay was okayish. I'd recommend it for a comfortable visit.
