The Govind palace

This is a basic, relaxed hotel that worked well for a 1-2 day visit. The bathroom in our room 201 was large and clean, water was complimentary, and there was a TV. Hanuman Gari is about 600 m away and Ram Mandir about 100 m on foot. Service was prompt when we needed things like an extra towel or hanger. There’s a basement dining area, and Kake di hatti serves rich North Indian food. The buffet choices were limited but enough, with pav bhaji, chole bhature, dahi paratha and toast. The rooms could be larger. The extra mattress was just a mattress, not a folding bed, though that was okay. We couldn’t use the dirty balcony because it was full of lizards. There’s no mini fridge or lift. Still, it was a good stay.

The hotel helped us get the best Darshan and showed us how to buy the tickets, which was really useful. We also had lunch at the basement restaurant and enjoyed it. It’s a fairly new place, close to both the railway station and Ram temple. Since we had extra baggage, someone came to pick us up when we asked. The rooms and hotel were neat, though our room felt tight for a family of four. We booked two rooms so the kids could each stay with one adult. A good stay in Aayodhya.

The staff were very polite and went out of their way to help with darshan arrangements and local guidance. The Govind Palace is newly opened, with clean, modern, well-kept rooms. Some deluxe rooms may feel a little compact for bigger families. Its location is hard to beat for pilgrims: around a five-minute walk, approximately 150-300m, from both the Ram Mandir main entrance and Ayodhya Dham Railway Station. A comfortable place for a spiritual stay in the heart of the city.

It’s quite close to Ram Mandir, and things are easy to find nearby. The rooms were clean and the stay itself was comfortable, but they’re small and the price feels far too high for what you get. I’d say around 2000 at most. It doesn’t feel like a luxury hotel, just very ordinary. There’s no lift, which is a major problem at these rates. Older guests and people with kids can really struggle with the stairs. We also had some issues with the lights and AC.
