Hotel Chitra Executive

The hotel is right in the heart of the city, with secure parking inside. We had a nice stay, though it’s expensive, and breakfast is 500/- per person. The restaurant serves vegetarian food only, and what we ordered was good. Reception, the bell boy, security, and restaurant staff were all very nice. Our executive room on 25 Dec 2025 had space for a rollaway bed alongside the queen bed, plus a work desk, room for luggage and personal items, a working fridge, and a kettle with tea and coffee sachets.

The food was the one good part: tasty, generous portions, and reasonably priced. But I wouldn’t book this hotel if security matters to you, especially if you’re travelling with family or as women alone. We had told them while booking that three women would be staying, yet at 1.30 am on 15th April an unknown man entered B wing room no 3001 with a master key while we were asleep. We woke with a terrible shock and immediately called reception. Staff came in and told us not to panic, explaining that a guest from room no 3005 had lost his key, was given a master key, and entered the wrong room. Our room didn’t even have a safety lock. We stayed from 13th April to 17th April, and I keep thinking what could have happened if just one woman had been there. The next day, the General Manager didn’t come to apologize, though we expected him to. At check-in, we’d also been put in a base-category room in A wing despite booking a premium room for three people. There were also many male guests coming into the hotel for heavy drinking.

For our three-day stay, the rooms were up to the mark and the food was wholesome. Mr.Sai Ganesh and Mr.Rahul Bali, the floor staff, gave us superb service throughout. We received excellent service at Chitra Executive. Thank you!

The only change I’d suggest is making the property accessible, with ramps or pathways for wheelchair users. That would help seniors and differently abled travellers too. We stayed through Prathamesh Travels, and organizing the temple circuit itinerary was smooth. The hotel worked well for our group visiting Pandharpur, Akkalkot, Gangapur and Tuljapur, thanks to its convenient location. After long travel days, the spacious, clean rooms were comfortable. Check-in was quick, and staff were courteous and ready to help. The lifts worked well, which was useful with luggage. Breakfast was satisfying, with poha, bharli vangi, puranpoli, chapatis, sabudana vada, tea, and sugar-less coffee. The Marathi-style dishes tasted flavourful and homely. A good option in Solapur for families and pilgrimage groups, with tasty food and good service.
