The Ramayana Hotel Ayodhya

We had a great stay. The rooms were clean and up to standard, and the restaurant, Naivedyam, served amazing food. Everyone was welcoming, and the reception team helped us plan travel around Ayodhya and arrange a station drop-off. There’s a large lawn where you can relax in the evening. Uber and Rapido e-rickshaws are easy to find, or the hotel can book one for you, though that option costs a bit more. I’d recommend staying here.

The food was good, and I’d especially recommend the oat bread baked on site. Congratulations to Chef Ashish Sharma for bringing it up to international standards. Staff were supportive and well mannered from reception through room service, and the rooms were furnished to a high standard.

We stayed for two nights, and the travel desk made getting around smooth and easy. Aakash and Vikas at the front desk were a great help, and I’m truly grateful for their service. The hospitality, cleanliness, and service made the stay amazing.

There was no hot water in either room we tried. After we were moved to another room, the problem was unchanged. Maintenance staff turned the taps on and off, offered no useful explanation, and left without fixing it. When we raised the cold water issue with the shower and sink, staff insisted the water wasn’t cold instead of addressing the problem. We’d also asked in person for wake-up calls for two rooms, but neither call came. That threw off our schedule and made us late. Reception felt unwelcoming, and when we requested just one extra hour before checkout, the manager refused. The staff arrived after we called for help with our luggage, but nobody came. The stay was disappointing because basic requests went unmet and real issues were dismissed. For the price, this level of service and the lack of hot water were unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.
