The owner, Mr Verma, is inspiring, still full of energy at retirement age and encouraging people to discover their own strength. This is a wonderful place to experience rural life in the Himalayas. I’d love to visit again and again.

I stayed with the family and ate tasty, healthy traditional Kumaoni food. I also got to teach at a local school, which was an amazing experience, and had a brilliant stay overall. The village is incredibly beautiful, with cattle at the home; it was my first time tending cows and sheep. The village people are simple, honest, and friendly. The accommodation is decent, with shared rooms and a shared washroom that’s kept clean and hygienic. Mr. Jeevan Verma has run the place for over 28 years. His experience in Volunteering Tourism is phenomenal, and he’s very involved in the village’s development. Definitely worth a visit if you want to go back to basics.
