The natural setting beside the Rupnarayan River is lovely, and the manager and staff were cooperative and welcoming. Breakfast in our Rs 950 dayout picnic package was delicious: peas kachori, Aloordam, Nolen gurer rosogolla, and hot coffee. The sweets were especially good, and the vegetarian starters were enjoyable. But the grounds are entirely concrete, with no grassy place to sit, and steps around the edges could be hard to notice for people over 60 or children under five, so there could be an accident. The common washrooms also need better care, with working flushes and taps. The non-veg starters were a letdown: the chicken was very tough to chew and seemed like it had been kept for days, while the fish pakora smelled scaly and also seemed not fresh. Lunch was poor too. The fish had that same strong scaly smell, and the inside was brown, so it didn't seem fresh. They'd said all items except mutton were unlimited, but when we asked for one extra good piece of fish, they said fish was limited to one piece per person. That made us uncomfortable. Please improve these things and the food quality, which matters a lot for a feast, picnic, or day out. Thanks for the service.
