My wife and child felt so welcomed at Athithya, especially my child, who was treated with real warmth and care. That made it easy for me to focus on my official trip without worrying about my family. The staff were kind throughout, and the restaurant food was outstanding. The hotel is in a prime part of Bangalore, with easy access to major areas. We loved our stay, and I rarely write reviews, but Athithya felt special enough to recommend wholeheartedly.

The food was excellent and traditional, and Mr. Konam took time to explain each dish before serving it. The meals were presented in an organized way, which added a personal touch. We also liked the pleasant atmosphere, and the hotel is conveniently close to National College Metro. Mrs. Ganga at reception was warm and welcoming. Though our Kannada is limited, she spoke with us in Hindi and English and offered advice on getting around Bangalore. The décor on the first floor is especially appealing, and the hotel has a cozy feel. We stayed on the second floor for three nights, but loud noise from the third floor disturbed us every night and made sleeping difficult. Wi-Fi was another problem. The one-day voucher we received after asking barely worked. We also reported that the TV was out of order twice. Someone checked it once, but there was no further help. The lock on Room 205 also did not work properly, which was concerning. I liked the place despite these flaws and would consider returning, though the night staff response and the issues we encountered need attention.

The kathal biryani was unbalanced, with too much spice and not enough harmony between the rice and raw jackfruit. The pieces seemed to disappear into the masala. Service for a la carte was poor, and delayed orders weren't handled well. If thali is what you do best, stick with that instead of offering a la carte. There are better-tasting options at much lower prices. Here, it feels like you're paying for the décor and presentation, not the taste.

The staff making an effort to speak Kannada made me very happy, and that's the reason I'd recommend the place. The special bhojana looks like a long list, though items such as pickle and ghee are included, and most portions are small. The dosa was tiny. The main dishes were alright, with Rashmi the best; tmbulli and curry leaf raitha were good, while the rest didn't stand out. It seems unreasonable that papad and sweets can't be taken away to eat later. Overall, it was okay.
