The Capitol Hotel

Breakfast could use work, both for taste and variety. The lunch buffet, though, was good and had a nice selection, and the conference hall was comfortable and well equipped for the business meet I attended during my recent stay at The Capitol. The rooms were good, and being near the city centre made getting around much easier. A solid option for business events.

The facilities are old and outdated, and there’s just one lift for the whole property. I also found a cockroach in my breakfast. They charge five-star prices, even for the open-network internet, and I’d paid in advance. For what they charge, it isn’t worth it. I’d just moved from Chancery, which was much better.

We held our daughter’s naming ceremony here in August 2025, and the food service left us extremely dissatisfied. Several guests later said that many menu items never reached them, while some were completely missed by the serving staff. This was the last function we’ll host at this hotel. The experience also left the family very disappointed.

The location is right in the city centre, and the rooms were good and spacious. But our room had a washroom issue that needed repair, and only after asking several times were we moved to another room. Getting hot water was even worse. Despite repeated requests, there was none until I called reception again to have it fixed.
