Hotel Surya Mahal

There’s a restaurant and bar, both in the same spot, and the hotel is in a good location. The rooms and bathroom are spacious, though I found some stains on the bedsheet. There was a TV, but its set-top box didn’t work. Service was okay. If they fix the issues I mentioned, it could be a good hotel for this budget.

I was surprised by how arrogant the welcome was, and it made me dislike the idea of visiting Surya Mahal hotel again. I’d called to ask whether enough rooms were available and was told I’d definitely have one if I came. Online, the rooms were cheaper, so I mentioned the price. I then tried looking for a cheaper option, but because of an unavoidable situation I said I’d accept a more expensive room and asked them to give me one. The person then said all the rooms were gone, even though the website still showed availability, and refused my request. The reception staff were arrogant and behaved inappropriately, and the welcome was unfriendly. It was the worst experience.

The restaurant food was very good, and the rooms were clean. The staff were helpful and courteous, and the reception can arrange cabs or autos for you.

It’s my favorite hotel, just a few minutes’ drive from home and right in the middle of the city. I’ve visited many times and have never been disappointed. I always enjoy every bite, the menu has plenty of choices, and the food quality is high. The service is excellent too, so do yourself a favor and visit.
