Chinmaye Inn

The room service was the one part of our stay that could have been better. Getting food and drinks delivered to the room is handy, especially for business travelers, but this service needs improvement, whether that's delivery speed, order accuracy, or the quality of what's offered. We chose Chinmayee Inn for our first hotel stay in Bhagalpur, and it made a very good first impression. The place seems well suited to business trips, with a practical layout and efficient services. The receptionist at the front desk was especially helpful, professional, and easy to approach. She handled check-in smoothly and made us feel welcome from the start. The rooms were adequate and a little old-fashioned, as if they'd hosted plenty of guests over the years. Still, they were spotlessly clean and tidy. Housekeeping clearly takes care to keep things fresh and hygienic despite the older furnishings.

We stopped here for a short break, but I won't consider staying again. As soon as we checked in, the power went out, and there was no backup, even though this is supposed to be one of the area's best hotels. We had to use our phone flashlights, and we got stuck in the lift during the outage. When we finally reached the room, a used food plate was sitting outside the door, left there by someone else. The key wouldn't turn on the lights or fan, though a staff member somehow got them working. There still wasn't any fan, and the AC seemed ancient. On a 44° day in Bhagalpur, we were sweating badly while the AC seemed not to care.

When I first stayed here five years ago, the room and washroom were clean and the food was very good. This is my second visit, and now everything is in bad shape. The wardrobe door hangs loose and won't close properly, and there are black stains and spots on the WC. The food was a complete horror: the chicken was stale, with an obvious foul smell and taste. Dirty brown water came from the tea flask spout into my cup just before the tea, and the fresh lime soda had no fizz, seeming more like nimbu pani.

Saket at the front office made my trip memorable, making sure every part of my stay went smoothly. He welcomed me warmly, answered my questions patiently, and showed real professionalism and care. The hotel itself was comfortable and well maintained. It's rare to find staff who are both efficient and genuinely attentive to guests. Thank you, Saket. I'd recommend the hotel, especially for the front office team's excellent service.
