The location is the only good thing. The rooms are dirty and smelly, and the service is very bad. Later, they blamed us for not explaining our needs clearly. Better to find a room in Devbag or Tarkarli, away from Malvan.

There are good lunch homes and hotels nearby, which is a real advantage, and the caretaker was helpful. Malvan beach, Chivala beach, and Sindhudurg fort and jetty are all within walking distance. The rooms are average, but with the prime location, it’s a good option.

Although Sun and Sand Hotel looks decent from outside, our three-night booking was a big disappointment once we got to the room. Housekeeping only began cleaning after we checked in, and the washroom was in very poor shape: the commode was broken, the jet spray didn’t work, and water kept leaking. The TV and air conditioner were both out of order. We asked to change rooms, but staff refused despite vacant rooms being available, and they didn’t repair the problems either. We weren’t given drinking water bottles or clean sheets during our stay. This doesn’t meet basic hospitality standards, and I wouldn’t recommend it for a comfortable, hassle-free stay.

A budget hotel with basic amenities and AC at pocket-friendly prices. Restaurants, the market, the beach, and water sports are all within walking distance. Owner Mr. Tejas put together a water sports and scuba diving package for just Rs 600 near Nivati and Tarkarli beach.
