I’d already paid for a room through MakeMyTrip before travelling from Bhutan. When I arrived with the booking PDF, the man at reception refused to give me the room, saying the hotel couldn’t be booked through an app or website. He wanted ₹2,000 in cash instead. The hotel was listed on the app, and I still have proof of the booking. A really awful experience at this West Bengal hotel.

The outside view was lovely, but the dining room with AC had broken furniture and damaged walls. Service was poor too. We had to call five times, and it still took about 15 minutes for someone to clean our table. The men's washroom had a beehive and wasn't hygienic. It's still a nice place to visit, but it needs much better service. I'd think twice before coming back.

Everything tasted awful. The food was bland and soggy, and the dishes weren't clean. The chicken was rubbery and chewy, while the veg soup smelled and tasted only of soya sauce. Horrible food quality. I wish I could give a negative rating.
