OYO 5699 Hotel Monarch Boutique

We left within an hour of checking in. The hotel has three different names, which is confusing, and the room and bathroom were in poor shape: stained linen, an unclean bathroom, and wet walls. The lifts weren't working either.

The room had dim, flickering lights, a bathroom water shortage, and no hot water. I had to wait 30 minutes, wasting water. Rain was dripping through the closed window, and the room had no fan, only an AC. Both the room and AC remote malfunctioned. It was a terrible stay and doesn't meet OYO STANDARDS / PREFERENCE. The place needs better maintenance and hygiene, and I wouldn't recommend it. At least it's near Xperia mall, and the food at Malvan takda is delicious.

The breakfast was bland and disappointing, the AC didn't work well, and the staff seemed useless. There were empty beer bottles in the room when I checked in. Worst OYO experience.

I paid online through the OYO website for this lodge type hotel. When I arrived, the receptionist, Rakesh I guess, who was chewing tobacco, told me the booking had been cancelled. He said I could check in at the same rate, but only if I paid cash. I called OYO customer service right away, and they said the booking was confirmed. Then another man beside the receptionist took my phone after telling me to call OYO, and tried to cancel my booking for a full refund. I don't know why. They wasted nearly an hour while I stood at reception, and OYO didn't give a full refund. After arguing with the tobacco-chewing receptionist, I finally got checked in. They gave me room 316, where the bathroom lights were blinking. I reported it and asked to move. In room 210, the room was okay, but it also had a see-through hole in the door. I noticed all the rooms in the lodge had one. I call it a lodge because calling it a hotel would be overrated. I arrived at 4 pm, but it took until 7 pm to get settled. Three hours just to check in, complete nonsense. They serve breakfast, but as soon as I got up the next morning, before even bathing or brushing my teeth, I checked out and ran from that hell. I saw lots of young couples checking in because the rates are cheap. Please find somewhere safe instead.
