OYO Flagship 4558 The Surbhi

I don’t think I can trust the OYO app for another booking or recommend it after this. I requested a larger room in the M P Nagar area of Bhopal, and OYO suggested this property as a Super OYO. The app photos showed a 169-square-foot room, and I confirmed that size with the OYO representative on the phone before booking. I also told him I’d arrive around midnight based on my travel schedule and paid 10% in advance to confirm. I reached the property at about 11:30 pm, and the manager gave me a filthy room where you had to walk over the bed to reach the bathroom. It was around 8 by 9 feet. When I asked about the room I’d booked three days earlier, he said the room and description in the OYO app weren’t from this hotel. It was a disastrous experience.

The staff were polite and service was quick. The rooms, however, weren’t clean, some washroom fittings didn’t work, and the whole floor smelled of cigarettes. They should have a separate smoking area.

Once I finally got there, the stay was calm and very affordable, and the room they gave me was apparently the best they had. They did show some cooperation, but quite a few things weren’t handled well. I’d come to the wrong spot after getting out of a cab because Ola had the location wrong. New to town, I didn’t know where to go, and even after using Google Maps and walking with my luggage, I ended up at another wrong location. The hotel wasn’t marked properly, and I eventually had to ask locals for directions. The Wi-Fi didn’t reach the third floor, where I needed to work on my laptop. The room was dirty, with spit around the dustbin area, coaches, and spiders on the table. The TV had no sound and wasn’t replaced after I asked. The intercom to reception was broken too. For such a reputed area of Bhopal, the experience was a little disappointing. This isn’t meant as criticism of the hotel itself, but hospitality does mean getting these things in order. I hope they fix them by next time. ✌🏻😊

Surbhi hotel is a nice place to stay for very little money. The service needs improvement, though. The tap was broken and should be repaired, and the cooler was broken too.
