Hotel Royal Inn

The room was small and dirty, the geyser didn’t work, and the staff were rude. There’s no restaurant either. Worst experience, please avoid.

The location is prominent, and if you’re arriving at Bhubaneswar railway station to go to Puri, buses from Barmunda terminal stop right in front of the hotel. There are plenty of food options nearby, including restaurants on the station approach road. The hotel has its own restaurant too, though it’s a bit pricey. I found the hotel at 10.30pm after coming out of the station. I booked an A/C room, probably ₹1600 a night, and the manager immediately gave me ₹100 off, which I think is normal. It was too late for me to bargain anyway. The A/C worked fine all night, though the fan was a bit noisy. The room was old but clean, and the atmosphere inside was good during my stay. It’s okay for a night or two, alone or with family. If you want a luxurious stay, this place isn’t for you.

The room was below standard, and the service was average. The location is good.

The location is the only positive I found. The bathroom and bedsheets were filthy, and the sheets looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. Staff and the so-called manager were rude. The hotel is above a liquor store, which you can’t see in the picture, and the AC remote doesn’t work. They also won’t stick to the 12 checkout time and charge extra for absurd reasons. For their prices, you can find OYO rooms or better hotels. Save yourself the headache and stay elsewhere.
