OYO 9855 Hotel Royal Suites

The breakfast comes with the stay, which is reasonably priced, though the menu could use more variety. The property is new, just 1.5 years old, with neat, clean, spacious, and well-decorated rooms. It's 3 km from Bhubaneswar railway station and 6 Km from Biju pattanik International airport. You can book directly or online. I still recommend it.

We had arrived in BBSR at 5 am, were new to the city, and had no other choice, so we booked again in person after the online booking failed. They first put us in a room with no lights. After we asked about the electricity, they moved us four times and only on the fifth try gave us a room, which still wasn't up to the mark. Earlier, we'd already booked two days through an online platform because this was an OYO hotel, but when we arrived they said they weren't accepting online bookings. The hotel and platform both refused a refund: the platform wanted a proper bill, while the manager gave only a money receipt and refused to issue a bill. The staff were unpleasant, didn't listen after booking, and seemed interested only in money. The hotel is dirty and has a premium name only, it felt like a cow shelter. Don't stay here.

There was nobody on staff to provide service, and the place seemed as if it had been shut for years. No lights or water, dusty, smelly rooms, and no maintenance at all. It was a horrible experience. If you want to shoot a horror movie, go at your own risk.

The rooms were closed since covid times and haven't been maintained since. They looked haunted and smelled bad, with no lights, no water in the washrooms, and no service providers. We asked the reception guy if he'd stay at the hotel overnight in case of an emergency. He said yes, but he left too. Please go at your own risk.
