OYO 85106 Hotel Elvin,s Place

At checkout they unexpectedly asked me for more money, which left me frustrated and uncomfortable. I'd had an extremely disappointing stay at Elvin's Balaji Beach Place in Calangute, Goa. The receptionist and owners were rude and unprofessional from the moment I checked in, and the room was skipped during cleaning every day. Service was very poor, and I didn't feel valued as a guest. I'd look at other places around Calangute Beach, where there are plenty of better options for service and hospitality.

The service was pathetic, and the place was horrible compared with the photos. We arrived at 5 am with a 3-month-old baby and two other children, aged 3 and 4. We'd booked two rooms three days earlier and asked staff to hand over the keys first so the children could sleep, but they wouldn't let us check in. They kept us waiting 40 minutes to finish the paperwork, even with our little baby there. The customer service was very bad, and I found the place fraudulent.

What made this stay special was the atmosphere. It felt more like home than a regular hotel, and the general manager deserves credit for the excellent hospitality. The whole team was respectful and helpful. The location made it easy to get around and enjoy different activities, and the stay itself was comfortable. If we come back to Goa, we’d stay here again.

The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was fine. We were upgraded, though the main differences seemed to be a small fridge and a larger TV. It’s close to Calangute beach and easy to reach, and the staff were friendly. Mr Aditya gave us a warm welcome. Some things let the stay down. Our room wasn’t cleaned on the second day, and on the third we had to keep calling to get the missing bath towels sorted out. The balcony looks directly onto another lodging, so the view isn’t good. The pool is tiny and feels like it’s there just for show. The place was fine overall.
