Best Western Dalhousie

The steep approach road and the distance from Mall Road may be inconvenient, especially for elderly travelers. Some basic room categories may not offer the best views either. Still, the hotel is away from the crowded town center, so it’s a calm retreat for couples, families, or anyone wanting quiet mountain surroundings. The spacious, clean rooms, modern interiors, and mountain views are often praised, as are the staff’s warm hospitality, quick service, and professional manner. Breakfast and dinner also get positive mentions. Valley view rooms are especially recommended for sunrise and sunset. Best Western Dalhousie offers good value, bringing together comfort, cleanliness, hospitality, and natural beauty.

There’s no balcony, and the rooms don’t get fresh air, even though the view is amazing. We also had a persistent smell in the hotel bathrooms. Apart from that, everything was good. Breakfast and dinner were great, and Mr. Karnail Singh was excellent, always smiling and very quick with the service.

Waking up to the beautiful view was a highlight, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help with a warm smile, making sure our stay went smoothly from check-in to check-out. Special thanks to Akshit, Ajay and Harish.

My wife and I stayed at Best Western Dalhousie from 10-12 April 2026 in a Superior Room, and it was very disappointing. The hotel’s steep approach road, nearly a 45-degree incline for about 200 metres, made it difficult for us to go out. At ages 74 and 71, that was a serious inconvenience. The room’s window looked straight onto a massive rock face that blocked the entire view. It felt claustrophobic, with no openness at all. I was genuinely uneasy and asked the manager to upgrade us to a Mountain View room, offering to pay any additional charges. The request was declined. They only offered to move us on the second day, which didn’t solve the immediate problem. We chose the property because we’ve consistently had good experiences with the Best Western brand in other countries, where the rooms and views have always been excellent. This stay fell far short of those expectations. It was surprising that a property with rooms lacking proper openness was part of the chain.
