OYO 4894 Hotel The Diamond Chandigarh

The rooms were spacious and well kept, and we slept comfortably. Our group of five had two rooms: one single room for a couple and two connected rooms for the other three. The entrance looked tiny and a bit off-putting, but inside it was a pleasant place for our one-night stay.

I booked through goibibo, but when I arrived, the manager refused to check me in and said the hotel didn’t work with goibibo. I suspect the manager, nearby hotels, and goibibo may be running a scam. Goibibo customer service couldn’t find me a replacement, so I paid three times my booking amount to stay at a nearby hotel, and they still aren’t answering my calls. Learn from what happened to me and don’t go here. Thankyou.

The restaurant staff were friendly and provided basic amenities, but the washroom water ran very slowly, so we had to fill buckets. The commode’s jet was broken too, and I had to use the mug. I expected something different from OYO after staying in many of their rooms. The hotel is in what felt like the shadiest part of the city, and it made me uneasy about what might be going on nearby. It was my first time in the city, and I hadn’t known Burail wasn’t recommended as a place to stay. I wouldn’t take my family there. Look at other options if you’re visiting.

I booked through OYO for October 30 and 31, 2021, and arrived at about 4:00am on the 31st, since OYO's 31st starts at 12:00pm. I called the hotel, someone actually answered, and a man came down to look for roadside parking because the hotel has none. While he was checking, I paid online. He then asked why I’d paid online and said I should have cancelled through OYO and paid him in cash because OYO takes a 25% commission. I told him it was my choice and that the booking was between me and OYO, since the hotel had listed itself there. I said it was fine if he wouldn’t give me a room, especially at 4am. He did take me to a room, number 111, which looked like some ANDA Cell. There was no kit, I had to ask for towels, and the blanket wasn’t clean. The location isn’t good, and I wouldn’t stay here to relax. I’m sharing this to help anyone thinking of booking through OYO. This review is real, and I have the booking screenshot.
