The room and washroom were clean and pretty good, and the receptionist behaved very well. The room is tiny, though, just sufficient for a solo traveller looking for a cheap one-night stay.

For a mid- or low-budget stay, the location is handy, with lots of hotels and restaurants nearby and Chennai Central within walking distance. The room was decent, but needs renovation and pest control. I expected the front desk staff to know other languages and be polite.

Easy access to Egmore and Central stations and the Metro, with a prime location. It's a budget-friendly hotel that suits everyone.

The room we got was 104, and it was clean and organized, with a spacious, clean bathroom. We were all women, and the staff were cooperative enough to arrange an early check-in. I was unsure after reading the reviews, but the hotel met our expectations. Chennai Central is within walking distance for me, since I mostly prefer walking. In the same lane, Hotel Vaiga serves some nice quality meals at affordable prices. As a Keralite, I also met a Malayali shopkeeper from Kannur right in front of Hotel joyce, who runs a small tea and juice shop. We Mallus had a little trouble communicating, but they were still very cooperative. Overall, a good experience.

The person I spoke with on the phone seemed dishonest and was impolite. I wouldn't recommend Hotel Joyce.
