I booked a non-AC single room near Chennai Central after checking Google reviews for an affordable place. I mainly needed somewhere to sleep, but mosquitoes kept me awake. When I called reception at 4 AM, they said all the rooms had mosquitoes, then sent a room boy with two mosquito repellent incense sticks. The mosquitoes returned as soon as they burned out. The nets on the windows weren’t proper, so I checked out at 5 AM to avoid more bites. My hard-earned 700/- felt wasted.

The hot water situation was inconvenient: it doesn’t come from the tap, so you have to ask staff for a bucket. The room and washroom also weren’t maintained well. The basin’s drainpipe inside the bathroom wasn’t fitted into the drain hole, leaving dirty water to collect on the floor below it.

For 1200, even an AC room didn’t feel worth the price. It’s an average place in an old building, and the amenities aren’t up to scratch.

I booked through Expedia, but they wouldn’t let me check in or refund me. I was left outside with all my luggage and nowhere to go. They took my money, and the staff were incredibly rude. Disgusting way to run a place.
