Four Points by Sheraton Chennai, Velachery

There’s plenty to explore nearby, including a mall, lots of food courts, and hotels, and the location is very convenient. Breakfast was a highlight, with a good spread of South Indian dishes, French items, salads, and juices. The hotel was excellent, and the staff were polite and helpful. A wonderful stay.

Getting around the city was easy from this convenient location. The rooms were spacious, clean, well maintained, and had everything I needed to relax. Staff at the restaurant were attentive, and the breakfast buffet offered lots of tasty choices. Everyone I met was friendly and professional, always ready to help with a smile. Check-in and check-out were smooth, too. I had a wonderful stay at Four Points by Sheraton, Chennai. It’s a great option for business or leisure in Chennai.

Once we were seated at two separate tables, we went ahead with the buffet rather than escalating the issue. The atmosphere was pleasant, and we enjoyed many of the dishes, though a few were below average. The live counters seemed to change their offerings daily, which surprised us. We’d expected a more consistent and varied spread at a Marriott-standard restaurant. The seating problem had already taken away from our team outing. There were eight of us at Sage & Salt, at the Marriott property near Velachery, on a Friday evening. Dining together mattered to us, but the restaurant only offered two tables of four, even though it didn’t seem fully occupied. We’d asked in advance whether separate bills were possible and, following the staff’s advice, booked through the District app as groups of 2, 2, and 4. On the phone, we understood that this wouldn’t stop the restaurant from seating us together. When we arrived and asked for one table, staff said the split bookings meant that wasn’t possible. They also said they couldn’t arrange one group table because we hadn’t mentioned it on the day, despite our explaining that we’d followed their earlier advice. The communication between reservations and restaurant staff felt badly out of step, and there was little flexibility. Sage & Salt is about 2.5 km from Taramani. Since it belongs to one of America’s renowned luxury hotel brands, we’d expected the visit to feel smooth and premium. The food and atmosphere had their good points, but the table handling and communication affected the experience. We’d made the effort to check and book as instructed, so we expected better coordination, flexibility, and customer care.

I appreciated the way I was treated as a Titanium member. The usual Marriott welcome benefits were missing, though they thoughtfully made up for that with complimentary laundry, which I really appreciated. The hotel has good service overall and courteous staff, though some extra training could improve the guest experience. The location is decent, but outside noise comes through and the soundproofing could be better.
