Metro Grand Hotel

I felt cheated by the gap between the online photos and the actual place. The hotel is beside heavy traffic, not in open space, and it’s badly maintained. The bathroom was clean, but the bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve experienced, and the room had a damp, musty smell. The restaurant is indefinitely closed. They also aggressively ask whether you’re married and demand proof. I don’t think the owner is interested in acting on feedback.

The edited online pictures made this place look like a hotel, but it’s really a lodge, and the worst one I’ve seen. It cost 500 for early check-in. The beds weren’t proper, there were cockroaches on the bed, the fan barely worked, and the restrooms were worse than public toilets. Couples and other guests weren’t allowed. It feels like travelers are being tricked with edited photos. The booking was nonrefundable, and when you arrive, you get a 0.1-star lodge. I’m very disappointed with Agoda for not checking the pictures, and with the management for using fake ones.

We paid for a clean room, but found a large cockroach crossing the bathroom floor and smaller ones in the room later. The place also smelled strongly of cigarettes, and there were other cleanliness problems in the room. Staff apologized, but offered no real fix beyond briefly suggesting we keep the windows shut, which doesn’t explain the infestation. Management seemed unconcerned. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a hygienic, comfortable stay.

Terrible hotel and service, with very poor maintenance. They wouldn’t give us extra water bottles, even when we offered to pay.
