4/10
Getting to the station was convenient, and that earned the extra star. Inside, though, the lobby smelled awful. I soon realized it was because of a small open restaurant. It was a terrible spot to stand and talk. A lobby should feel welcoming and smell pleasant, so this was a shock. The hotel looks okay from the outside, but the inside was bad.

Nayagara Hotel offers good value for a budget stay, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Chennai. We felt safe there, the Wi-Fi worked reliably, and parking was available. The staff were courteous and helpful, and service was prompt and professional. Our clean, spacious, well-kept room suited either business or leisure travel. The location in Kodambakkam was excellent, just a short walk from the railway station, so getting around was easy. Breakfast was complimentary and tasty, though it could have had more variety. The in-house restaurant also served good food.

The linens were good quality, and the staff were courteous. The hotel was spotless, and we had a comfortable, pleasant stay.

I wasn't satisfied with the service. At the front desk, the staff were rude, unhelpful, and showed little hospitality. The way the management and staff treated guests was disappointing. They need to improve their attitude and professionalism, as they lacked basic courtesy.

The room felt really dated, there were far too many cockroaches, and the facilities weren't good. A terrible experience.
